What MT2 is
Melanotan-2 is a synthetic analogue of α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) — a cyclic peptide that acts on the melanocortin family of receptors. Its structure makes it more stable than natural α-MSH, which is part of why it is used as a reference compound in melanocortin-receptor research.
